Glass Lab Edinburgh is a supportive community and has a well-equipped studio to help you realise your own creative development. We have various levels of membership to accommodate your studio access needs: rent a table for a month, rent kilns for your firings, or rent equipment for just a few hours.
We have five flatbed kilns, a large sandblaster, a linisher, glass drill, and lots of other tools and equipment.

Our Guyson sandblaster can easily accommodate jobs both large and small. The chamber is more than 1.5 m high, 1.2 m wide, and has a pass-through to accommodate even larger sheets.
Our water-fed Bohle glass drill has a range of diamond bits to drill a range of hole sizes in your glass, (min. size 6mm). Its long arm means holes can be drilled up to 50 cm from any edge.
Our Bohle linisher is a premium machine that can be used to grind edges, and polish glass. We have belts in the following grits: 80, 180, 200, 400 and cork.
Diamond saws can be used to use to cut otherwise impossible shapes in your glass!

KILN FIRINGS
We have a range of five flatbed kilns perfect for glass painting, fusing and slumping -- everything from small tests to larger pieces!
Included: ½ hour to for you to prepare the work to be loaded into the kiln and to load the kiln. If more time is needed, we will charge £20/hour, billed in 30 minute increments. Our kiln usage is higher on Thursdays & Fridays, so Mondays and Tuesdays tend to have more availability.
Glass Lab staff will program the kiln. You should have an idea of the firing schedule you want used. Please bring this info with you for us to discuss with you.
We use Papyros kiln paper as a separator, charged per meter squared of use. You are welcome to bring your own kiln paper.
Firings are done at user’s risk.

We have two Kiln Care Hobbyfuser 3s. These are perfect for small projects and tests.
Our Bohle P50 klin has a 50 x 50cm shelf
Our Kiln Care Pro-fuser D has a single shelf measuring 48 x 82cm, and an internal height of 33 cm.
The Bohle Eco100 is our largest kiln -- measuring 100 x 50 cm! Perfect for your larger pieces, or lots of smaller works!
This kiln is useful for small cast pieces requiring an even heat from side elements.
