Join Joanna Kessel of Edinburgh Mosaic Studio for a fun, creative day making colourful mosaic tea-light holders inspired by Dalle de Verre architectural glass.  Come on your own or with a friend to enjoy a sociable day making tea-lights as festive presents for friends and loved ones – the gift of a handmade glowing light may be more pertinent than ever this year!

You will be guided through this simple but highly effective technique in step-by-step stages.  Each participant will be provided with 3 glass holders and a range of transparent mosaic and stained glass to create your unique mosaic tea-lights.  Additional glass holders and materials will be available to buy from stocks should you wish.

*The adhesive needs to set before the glass is grouted.  Students will have the option to return at 5pm on Sunday to grout the tea-lights or watch a grouting demonstration and take materials away to finish your pieces at home.  (Grouting 3 tea-lights will take less than an hour).

GUEST INSTRUCTOR

This autumn we will be teaming up with Joanna Kessel to host a series of mosaic workshops.  We are excited by the possibility to explore the many interesting connections between stained glass and mosaic and these autumn workshops will kick-start that dialogue - we hope that you will wish to join us on this creative journey.
