In this workshop you will be printing photographic images via silkscreen onto clear & opaque glass using lead-free enamels in black, white and shades of grey. You will create two multi-layered prints using a variety of pre-prepared silkscreens containing a selection of portraits, plants and patterns.

You will learn about the process of printing photographic images using a silkscreen and you will be experimenting with composition, light & tone. We will discuss considerations for converting an image into something suitable for screen printing, and possibilities for further developments. Please note you will be using pre-existing imagery in this class, and not exposing your own images onto the screen.

On completion of the workshop your printed tiles will be fired in the kiln at Glass Lab and will be ready for collection thereafter.

This class is a collaboration between Glass Lab Edinburgh and Studio Nealon, a joint project of David Nealon RSW & his daughter, Designer Jasmine Nealon, exploring glass as a medium and its application in Interior Design.

This class runs from 10am - 4pm.

This day can also be booked as a special event for groups from 3 - 8 (more, if people are in a bubble).  You'll learn, have fun -- and it might open the doors to a new hobby.... Who knows?
